Today Varien ("the Magento Company") released the long awaited Magento Enterprise Edition. The commercially licensed Magento Enterprise Edition software will be the premium grade Magento product. It is geared towards larger companies and includes additional features, including ROI specific features, not available in the open source, Community Edition product. In addition to features, the Enterprise Edition will include SLA based support with guaranteed response times, warranties, indemnification and soon, PA-DSS certification.

Yesterday Drupal 6.10 was released and simultaneously in the Drupal 5 branch version 5.16 was released. While both versions include bugfixes the main reason for the release seems to be a vulnerability that occurs when Drupal runs under Windows.

There appear to be several security issues in the newest Magento-versions (version 1.2). Values entered by a user in various forms are not checked thoroughly and thus causing vulnerabilities. In principle the vulnerabilities do not effect Magento directly, but they open up possibilities to attack other websites (or perhaps other parts of Magento) from within a Magento webpage.
